Transactional text is the text used to connect with others in order for us to get what we want from the use of the text (to get things).

Interpersonal text is a text used to connect with others in order for us to communicate with others properly and socially.

Transactional and interpersonal texts that should be covered in standard English-based Junior high school are :

*    Transactional and Interpersonal Texts related to the environment :

• Asking and giving services
• Asking and giving fact
• Asking and giving opinion
• Asking and giving clarification
• Giving personal responses
• Asking and giving apologize
• Giving congratulation ; etc ...

• (Asking and Giving Services ):

1.      Father : Dion, can you turn off the lamp in a bathroom ?

Dion : With my pleasure, dad .

2.      Susi :  May I help you to finish your work ?

Rani : No, thanks. I can finish it by myself.

3.      Dicky :  Can I turn off yor fan ? it’s very cool here.

Ali : Oh, sure .

1.      Firda : Dian, is the laptop beside Ani’s laptop is yours ?

Dian : oh yes, you’re right.

2.      Zizi :  Eva, can you tell me where I can find novel “Ayat-ayat cinta” like yours?

Eva : Sure. I bought it in a book store in front of Lamongan town square.

Alia : No. I think she is a nurse.

Adi : I think it was a great football compitition. They’re really was a great team.

Expressing Like and Dislike :

1.      Kiki : What do think about this red flower.

Jean : Oh it’s very beauty. I love it.

2.      Juna : Do you like drink soda ?

Haris : No, I don’t like it. It’s not good for health.

       Handi : Oh that’s right. I will study in Unisla next year.
